Proceedings:

• Treasury balance is $1629.37
• KD Connect Meeting - Other circles have raised $3560 with the B-day Club, It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere event raised $17,000 in auctions.
• Megan Zuckerman updated us on the legislative side of things.
  • CHKD has a great relationship with the VA
    Congressional Delegation so if you see your Member around town, make
    sure you introduce yourself as a Circle Member and thank them for
    their support of CHKD.
  •  CHKD got significant earmarks this year from
    Congresswoman Thelma Drake, and they are requesting 20 more beds from
    the State Assembly and might need our help reaching out to our State
    Representatives to voice our support.
  • Nationally, CHKD has been funded more than any other children’s hospital.

  • Mandy Berkowitz, chair of committee, has setup our new website with a blog, calendar and photo pages.
  •  Meeting minutes will be posted monthly
  • Pictures of future events
  • Working on content of our calendar and creating an announcement section
• Annual Fundraiser Dinner
  • Allison Kimnach, chair of committee, has setup our venue to be at Fire and Vine ( www.fireandvine.com )at Hilltop. Restaurant has been nominated for a James Beard award
  • Tentative date is Sunday, April 27th
  • Possible MC - Joe Flanagan
  • Announcement in CHKD circular?
  • Working on details of event. Committees are as follows:

• Additional Event Project - “Tiny Bubbles for Tiny Tots”
  • Held on Tuesdays at Fire & Vine from 6-8PM
  • $10 wine/champagne tasting that includes appetizers
  • Working on details on proceeds from the event for CHKD’s child abuse center
• Future Business:
  • February’s meeting on Wednesday, February 6th at 7PM at Mickey Held’s residence.
  • Work on sponsorships and auction items for dinner event
